Making pasta is fun and easy! And the marinara sauce? Way better than store bought!
Quick Marinara Sauce about 4 cups
2 T. extra-virgin olive oil
¼ cup onion, diced
3 or 4 cloves garlic, minced
1 (15-ounce) can diced, tomatoes
1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
2 t. dried oregano or thyme, or rosemary or Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon kosher salt
Freshly ground black pepper
Heat the oil in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Sauté the onion and garlic until they are lightly browned, about 5 minutes.
Add the tomatoes and tomato sauce and the herbs and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered for about 25 to 30 minutes (or less) or until thickened.
Stir in the salt and season with pepper, to taste. You can suggest that they add a ½ teaspoon of sugar if they want less of an acidic flavor.
PASTA for 4
1 cup flour
Pour the flour on a clean table and make a well. Add the eggs to the well and mix until blended. Add the flour gradually until a thick paste forms and then add the rest of the flour. Put through pasta machine and make some pasta!
